The Sentinel Series Silver is HydroDam's flagship residential barrier: durable aluminum planks dropped into U-channel posts for a watertight seal across doors, garages, and entry points. Engineered for rapid deployment when a storm is hours out, then stacked flat for off-season storage. Custom-fabricated at our Clearwater shop to your exact openings.

How does the Sentinel Series work?
Twin U-channel posts are mounted on either side of each opening during calm weather. That's the permanent part, and it's engineered to read as trim, not equipment. When a storm threatens, you drop 6063-T6 aluminum planks down the channels; each plank seats onto a compression gasket, stacking in roughly 7.5-inch increments until you reach your protection height. The result is a watertight wall one person can stand up in under 10 minutes without tools, a crew, or sand. When the storm passes, the planks lift out and stack flat until next time.
What protection height does it cover?
Sentinel is our recommendation for openings that need roughly 3 to 4 feet of protection, which covers the typical entry door, French door, slider, and single-car garage across most Pinellas County homes. Your exact protection height isn't a guess: at your free assessment we spec it against your FEMA flood zone and base flood elevation. If your tallest opening calls for 5 feet or more of water protection, we'll steer you to a taller stack instead: same engineering, more height.
What's included with installation?
Everything up to the moment you drop the planks: the assessment (on-site or virtual), custom fabrication at our Clearwater shop to your exact opening dimensions, two fabricated U-channel posts per opening, professional mounting and seal commissioning by our licensed team (FL #CBC1269077), a deploy kit per opening (gasket, handles, storage hardware), and a practice deployment walkthrough before we leave. The whole system is covered by our 5-year warranty.
How much does the Sentinel Series cost?
Fabricated, installed Sentinel systems start around $1,850 for a typical single opening. The number moves with how many openings you protect, their width, and the protection height your flood zone calls for. A front door prices very differently from a double-car garage. How do you store it between storms?
The planks stack flat in a garage corner or utility closet, and optional wall-mounted racks store the system vertically and out of the way. Aluminum doesn't rust, so maintenance is minimal: keep the gasket clean and rinse the channels after a saltwater deployment. Everything stays exactly where you left it until the next storm threatens.
