- How much do flood barriers cost for a home?
- Fabricated and installed systems start around $1,850. Price moves with how many openings you protect, how wide they are, and the protection height your flood zone calls for. - Which openings should I protect first?
- Start with the lowest ones. Water finds the lowest opening in the elevation and goes through it, so the front door on the low side of the house matters more than a slider two steps up. Garages are usually next because they are wide and sit at grade. We map this during the assessment rather than guessing from photos.
- Can I deploy the barriers myself?
- Yes. That is the point of the design. The track stays mounted year round and the panels store flat until you need them. We walk you through deployment at handover, and most homeowners can put up a single opening on their own.
- Are flood barriers better than sandbags?
- Sandbags are a temporary absorbent dam, not a seal. They soak, slump and leak, they take hours to fill and place, and they have to be disposed of after contact with floodwater. An aluminum barrier with a compression gasket seals against the frame and is reusable for years.
- How long do they last?
- The systems carry a 5-year warranty. The aluminum and the mounted track are built to stay outside in salt air, and the gasket is the wear item, which is replaceable without redoing the installation.
